Biogas production
With biogas production, Samerkas S.A. stands by the people, taking care of the complete coverage of energy needs and the needs of his fleet.
In the context of the continuous development of our company and our contribution to the production of clean, green energy, we proceeded to the construction and operation of a biogas production unit from organic waste with the method of anaerobic digestion and an independent power plant from biogas, with a capacity of 495kWe.
In this way, we contribute to our energy autonomy, while at the same time we create the necessary conditions for a better future.
Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are alternative ways of producing electricity without using conventional fuels.

Biogas production
What
Is it
Biogas usually refers to a mixture of different gases produced by the decomposition of organic matter in the absence of oxygen. Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste, or food waste. It is a renewable energy source and, in many cases, uses a tiny carbon footprint.
Biogas can be produced from anaerobic digestion with anaerobic bacteria, which digests materials within a closed system, or fermentation of biodegradable materials
What are
The benefits
Biogas can be used to generate electricity in wastewater operations, in a cogeneration gas engine (CHP), where the heat expelled from the machine is comfortably used for: cooking, space heating, water heating, and heating processes. If biogas is compressed, it can replace compressed natural gas for use in vehicles, where it can power internal combustion engines or fuel cells and replaces carbon dioxide much more efficiently than usual use in on-site CHP installations.
Is it
Green energy
Biogas is one of the fastest-growing forms of “green energy“! It is considered green energy because it does not pollute the environment, does not create waste during its production, and does not need to be extracted or intervened in the natural environment to be produced.
Also important is the fact that the resources needed for its production are never exhausted.
How it is
Used
Biogas can be used to produce energy and heat. The energy produced can either be recycled to meet the energy needs of a building, an industry, or it can be sold.
